Income Tax changes 2012-13
Personal Allowance for people aged under 65 £8,105
Personal Allowance for people aged 65-74 £10,500
Personal Allowance or people aged 75 and over £10,660
Married Couple’s Allowance (born before 6 April 1935) aged 75 and over £7,705
These age related allowances are subject to an income limit which will increase to £25,400.
Minimum amount of Married Couple’s Allowance £2,960
Blind Person’s Allowance £2,100
The Income Tax rates and Income Tax bandwidths which will take effect from 6 April 2012 are:
Basic Rate 20% Bandwidth £1 to £34,370
Higher Rate 40% Bandwidth £34,371 to £150,000
Additional Rate 50% Bandwidth £150,001 and above
‘L’ suffix codes – increase by 63; code 747L becomes 810L
The PAYE threshold with effect from 6 April 2012 is raised to £156 per week (£675 per month)
